Community Chat with Councilwoman Kohl

Councilwoman Linda Kohl hosts a monthly Community Chat for Penfield residents at varying locations around town. This is an opportunity to discuss ideas, interests or Concerns. This month's Community Chat will be held in the new book area of the Penfield Public Library, 1985 Baird Road (Community Center).

Women's Club of Webster October Meeting
Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 (4:45 pm - 8:00 pm)
Betsy Kalweit of Lilac City Toastmasters will speak to the Women's Club of Webster about “The Toastmaster Experience” on Thursday, October 17th. This dinner-meeting will be held at the Ontario Country Club, 2101 Country Club Lane, Ontario. Social mix-and-mingle begins at 4:45 p.m., meeting at 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., dinner, followed by the speaker. Entree choices are: Chicken Marsala with mushrooms in a wine sauce; Chicken Cordon Blue, i.e. chicken stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese in a wine and mustard sauce; and Salmon topped with lemon dill sauce. All dinners include a baked potato, green beans almandine, rolls, coffee and tea and dessert. Cost is $26. Women in Webster and the surrounding areas are invited to attend. Family Halloween Event

Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast
Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 (8:00 am - 10:00 am)
First Baptist Church of Penfield on Saturday, October 19, 8AM to 10AM will be hosting an All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for just $6.00 per person! All October proceeds will go directly to help support Resolve, an organization dedicated to intervening and preventing domestic and sexual violence against women. Fellowship Hall is ADA accessible and the breakfast is outstanding.

PSO's Brahms and Castanets
Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 (7:30 pm - 9:30 pm)
The Penfield Symphony Orchestra will present “Brahms and Castanets,” the first concert of its 64th season, sponsored by Heathwood Assisted Living & Memory Care. The first half of the concert will feature the engaging rhythms of Spanish and Latin American music by Chabrier, Moncayo, Márquez, and Rimsky-Korsakov. Brahms’ famous Symphony No. 2 completes the performance. The concert will be held on October 28, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at the Penfield High School Auditorium, 25 High School Drive in Penfield, New York. Tickets can be purchased online at www.penfieldsymphony.org, by phone at 585-872-0774, at all area Wegmans, the Penfield Recreation Department, Canandaigua National Bank (Penfield Branch), and at the door on the night of the concert. Advance tickets cost $15 for adults ($16 at the door), and $12 for senior age 60+ ($16 at the door). For students with a student ID, advance tickets are free or $1 at the door. Dr. David Harman has directed this 90-piece orchestra since 2000. Creatures Concert

Fall Luncheon Card/Game Party

The Women's Club of Webster, a non-profit organization that gives donations to Webster charities invites the public to attend its Fall Luncheon Card/Game Party fundraiser to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at the Midvale Country Club, 2387 Baird Road, in Penfield from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Arrive at 10:00 am and be greeted, with steaming coffee and other beverages as well as yummy sweet pastries. A palate-pleasing luncheon follows at 12:30 p.m.; then, stay for games until 3:30 pm. The net proceeds of this event will be used for scholarships and to benefit local charities including Webster Comfort Care. Guests are encouraged to bring games they enjoy. Dominos, Euchre, Scrabble, Twister, “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”, etc. – If you bring it, we’ll play it! Door prizes have been generously donated by many wonderful area merchants and club members.
